It’s already Wednesday. Can you believe how quickly the hours and days melt away? It seems like I just woke up and already it’s getting dark again! I spent several hours longarm quilting. The current quilt is a custom job; the quilt has several borders which all need something different stitched in each taking time and concentration. So I didn’t get anything else done today except the borders at one end of the quilt. Now that everything is laid out it should go more quickly when I next flash up the longarm quilting system. Here’s a little peek at the last/outer border of the quilt.
Earlier today, while I was taking five and making a cuppa coffee I spotted this out my front window.
I have been searching for my snowdrops and they didn’t seem to be making an appearance until I found this little patch this morning. Well later said Snowdrops had disappeared under the snow. We’ve had near blizzard conditions for most of the afternoon. I’m hoping that the snow turns to rain and that the roads are in reasonable condition tomorrow morning. I will be making my way over to The Crafts House for my Thursday Quilter on the Hill session. This week we’re doing something different to my usual quilting projects. Here’s a little sneaky peek at a little section of my sample of Mixed Media Stitching.
I think it’s time to step away from the same old techniques and have a good play with all the supplies we have in our stash. I have used a little acrylic paint, a few different weights of Wonderfil and I plan on adding buttons and beads and perhaps a few different fibres. Do you know what? It’s fun trying out new things. I have amassed a great number of supplies over the years and it’s time I start using it up! What do you think? Are you brave enough to try something new and different?
I’ve put in a good day in on the longarm quilting system. And several times today I found myself standing back while inspecting what I had just stitched and smiled to myself. This quilt, although I’m using very simple designs, is going to be rather nice. When I put my head down tonight I will sleep like a baby. Tomorrow we’re going to have some fun…….
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some more work on that Mixed Media Stitching project. Whatever you may be doing this evening, I hope you’re brave enough to do something different. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥

Wow Lucie! The quilting is perfect for that quilt. Simple and elegant. Nice soft warm colors (colours) . I also like your mixed media stitching, again great color combinations. I am also trying to use things I’ve bought and not really tried.
Thanks for your very inspiring pictures and posts.
I hope your snowdrops reappear soon. Ours I think are still a few weeks away.
Cheers, Suzanne

I thank you for your kind words Suzanne. I’m glad to hear you’re also trying to use up what you’ve got. Just think of all the great things we can create with what we’ve got.
Our snow has turned to rain, so hopefuly it will all be gone by the morning. Our little clump of snowdrops in the front garden has finally apppeared, but there is no sign of the ones in the back garden.
