After a lovely creative weekend it was back to the old grind in the sewing room this morning. As soon as I saw Sarah off at the door on her way to college this morning I headed for the sewing room. I’ve quilted Bargello type quilts before but none were as small as this one. So I wanted to get it just right. This quilt was pieced by Gail and she paid particular attention to pressing it properly. This quilt was very flat and as square as can be because it was so well pressed.
It took me a long time to choose quilting designs for this quilt. In the end I decided on two designs by Patty Clayton; JT Feather for the centre and Feathers on my Waffles for the corners.
For the outer borders I used Deloa Jones Alternating Curls.
I love this quilt. Working on this little quilt has given me as much satisfaction as working on a bed size quilt. Sometimes less is more…..
I spent mostly all day working on Gail’s Bargello quilt. I had an appointment after I finished quilting so I haven’t had a chance to play in the sewing room at all today. Tomorrow I plan on loading the next quilt after visiting the supermarket. The fridge and larder in happy longarm quilter land are looking pretty sparse. And if I’m really lucky I will have an hour to devote to working on a UFO.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some knitting and hopefully watching something interesting on the telly. Whatever you decide to do this evening, I hope you’re working on something as nice as the Bargello quilting I did today. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
