Hello my lovely friends. I hope you all had a wonderful day. It’s already Thursday and personally I’ll be glad to see the end of this week. There have been a lot of weird and wonderful things happening in the background in happy longarm quilter land this week. I’m hoping things will improve a wee bit next week.
Don’t you just hate it when someone rings your doorbell to try to sell you something you don’t need or want? Well I really dislike that kind of visitor. I had the pleasure of answering the door to a similar kind of caller at supper time. This poor chap was going around trying to sign up homeowners to have free cavity wall insulation. Apparently the government is giving grants to have this done for free. And we have already started looking into having this done by one of the major gas suppliers. Door step sales callers are definitely a bugbear for me. When I want something I prefer to make my own phone calls to a supplier of my choice.
A few days ago my Sarah and I went box shopping. I love decorative boxes so what better container than a decorative box to store projects and supplies in. I purchased this one to store the thread that I use for fine applique.
I stepped out with my Sarah today. We had a crafty painting session. While Sarah used her iPad mini for drawing I worked on painting this business card holder. I got it base coated with Flesh tone and shaded with Mississippi Mud colours of acrylic paint. I plan on adding some sewing related embellishments. As always I spent so much time yacking and drinking coffee that I didn’t finish the job. I hope to give the card holder a vintage look.
A few weeks ago I found this little picture frame in Ikea. I thought they were so cute that I bought two! At the time I had no idea what I was going to do with them but today I think I have worked out what I want to make with them. Well in fact Sarah claimed one for herself when I brought them out to photograph them earlier today. Sarah will be embellishing hers and using it as a picture frame. I’m planning something different for mine. So tell me, what would you make with this little picture frame? Would you use it as a picture frame or would you turn it into something else? I can’t wait to start transforming mine into something.
So it’s been another interesting day. Most days are in happy longarm quilter land. It was great to get out to spend time with like-minded people again today. Tomorrow I plan on watching a Craftsy class by Angela Walters called Dot-to-Dot Quilting. I like Angela Walters’ work and watching someone else do Freemotion Quilting is always a treat for me. I have no doubt that I will learn something and pick up some great tips as well. And then I may even do some Freemotion Quilting myself. I’m looking forward to a nice quiet day at home. There’s only a few days left until I start longarm quilting again. My quilting list is growing daily.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter has so many projects to choose from. I have narrowed it down to some fine hand applique work and/or working on some hexagons. I hope you have a super evening doing something that makes you happy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
