Happy Sunday to you all. It’s been a crisp winter day in happy longarm quilter land. I woke up to hard frost and the puddles were all iced up. I dressed myself in several layers and headed out with the dogs and it was a super walk. England is a very damp country but this morning it was a crisper dry cold.
Have you ever lost your wedding rings? Well this afternoon I did. I only realised it around 4 o’clock this afternoon that I was no longer wearing my wedding rings and I couldn’t remember taking them off! I only take them off when I apply hand lotion. So the search started. Sarah went out to the recycling bin to see if my rings were in it. Nope not there. And we searched in all the places that I’m most likely to rest my rings while I do something. This went on for about 30 minutes….. Finally I retraced my steps. It wasn’t easy because I had done so many little chores today. Do you know where I found them???? I found them in the storage bin where I keep the dog things. Earlier in the afternoon I decided that my Tippy dog needed her nails clipped. So I went into the storage bin to find the clippers but they were in the bottom of the bin under a hundred other things and I guess when I pulled the clippers out my rings must have slipped off my finger. I’m so relieved to have found them. Sometime over the next few days I’m going to tidy that bin so this doesn’t happen again.
After calling off the search and rescue for said rings we sat down to a lovely homemade lasagne supper. Searching for my rings gave me quite an appetite! I made individual portions so that mine could be a skinny one. Boy did I enjoy it. I plan to cook more comfort food this week because Sarah will be coming home from college starving.
I didn’t work in my sewing room today. Instead I concentrated on my stitchery work. And while I was stitching, my Sarah and I watched a practically the whole series of The Blacklist. Here’s a little preview of what I was working on ……
I still have plenty of stitching to do. So I had better get my skates on if I want to get all these borders joined to my Whimsy quilt by the deadline.
It’s been a really good day in happy longarm quilter land. We had a tense 30 minutes while we were searching for my rings but the rest was all good. We did lots of useful chores but we also had a relaxing time together. Tomorrow my Sarah returns to her normal weekday schedule of attending college. Sarah is looking forward to finding out what her next assignment topic is so she can get stuck in. The Christmas break has done both of us good but now it’s time to get back to reality.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some stitchery work while watching a brand new episode of Sherlock. I hope you have a lovely evening doing something you thoroughly enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
