Well it’s the first Monday of 2014. Did you all have a good day? Well I did. It was back to the old routine for me. I set the alarm to wake me up at 6:15. I beat the clock by three minutes. I could my Sarah mooching around getting ready for college. It was dark and cold. And I really didn’t want to get out of my bed but I did. It’s as dark at 6:15 as it is at midnight! I did a few chores and walked the dogs and then it was out to run a few important errands. My cupboards are full of healthy food making it very easy for me to stick to my slimming programme. And so far I’ve been good as gold.
One of the things on my To-Do List for today was to tidy my sewing room a little bit. Well I did make a start by gathering and sorting out some of the fabrics that were stacked here there and everywhere. I have ziploc bagged the different collections of fabrics which I bought at the time with a view of using them in specific projects but didn’t have a set plan. I happen to have a list of gentle goals projects that I will use these fabrics for. Unfortunately this little pile of fabric is only part of what I found today. I happen to know that there are more in a cupboard. By my calculations I probably have enough fabric to make everything on my gentle goals projects list for the year.
After doing a little tidy session which gave me a bit more room to work I decided to piece a couple of blocks for my beginner’s sample quilt. I chose the blocks some weeks ago. My EQ7 software comes in very handy for such jobs. I even found a good selection of Moda Chocolat fabrics and some Moda Crackle which will be perfect to make up my sampler. Here’s a little peek …..
I hope to piece a couple more blocks tomorrow. It’s looking pretty good so far. I’m really looking forward to see the finished result.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing more stitchery work. I hope you have a cosy evening doing something fabulous. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
