It’s been an interesting day. I delivered a finished quilt to the Quilts for Comfort committee this morning. I have already started planning the next one! I just need to scratch around my stash to find some suitable fabrics to start rotary cutting the patches.
While I was out I caught up with some doodling friends whilst drinking coffee and working on today’s daily doodle. It’s quite amazing how we are all working to similar prompts but every doodle card is different! This is my second week of participating in A Doodle a Day challenge. And for some reason it has become very important to me. to be able to doodle everyday.
I don’t have many photos to post tonight because although I have been working in the sewing room today, I cannot reveal what I have been working on just yet. I promise I’ll show you what I have been working on soon.
Are you a gadget person? Well I am but I don’t buy every gadget and tool that comes to the market because obviously they don’t all work as well as we would like. Not to mention that we don’t need every tool that comes out. However there are some that I wouldn’t be without. I think the most useful tools are the ones that are rotary cutting related, like the rotary cutter, rulers and cutting mat. Anything that makes cutting patches easier is a must. I have used a wide array of tools this week while I have been first piecing a quilt and then for designing blocks for my Whimsical Applique/Stitchery Mystery quilt. I’ve really enjoyed myself sketching out new designs and transferring them to fabric. Here’s a little I Spy type selection of tools I have used over the last few days.
What tools have you been using these past few days? Is there one particular tool that you couldn’t live without? And have you found a new gadget that we all need to know about? So share your thoughts.
I’ve had fun today and I still managed to be productive. Tomorrow it’s back to longarm quilting and appointments. I plan on quilting Eleanor’s Insanity hexagon quilt tomorrow. I hope to be able to decide which quilting design to use this evening. I have amassed a fair selection of designs over the years so there are times when I find it hard to decide. I’ll be sure to let you know how I get on tomorrow.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be working on the Whimsical Applique/Stitchery Mystery project. What fun…. Whatever you decide to do this evening, I hope it’s something that makes you happy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
