Well folks there are only a few hours left in 2013. My heart is sad but my head is looking forward to a fresh new year. A lot of interesting things have happened to me in 2013 and I’m going to make the best of 2014. I’m going to try to keep my positive hat on at all times over the next twelve months. My list of Projects to Tackle in 2014 is growing longer every day and as there are only 365 days in any given year I had better start prioritising. As I said yesterday I’m not planning on making any New Year’s Resolutions but I will be setting some gentle goals. Goals that I know are achievable. I would like to keep my stress levels low in 2014.
I got an email from my Sarah which included info for a useful project. I had everything on the requirements list however I wanted to make one little change. So on my travels this morning I purchased this ……
This bag of beans is far too much for the one little project I planned on working on today of course! Quite often I have come across other wee projects that call for a bean filling and I didn’t have any. Well this morning I took the plunge and purchase this ginormous bag of beans at my nearest Dunelm shop. Has anyone worked with beans before? My goodness what a mess it makes! They’re so light and so they travel really quickly. Anyway in the end I got the vacuum cleaner out and sucked up all the stray ones.
Now I’m sure you are wondering what I made using the beans. I started by choosing 12 charm squares from my Petite Odile Charm Pack.
And then decided on a layout …..
Once the charms were joined together and pressed I turned the little collection into this …..
Can you tell what it is yet? No …. Well here’s another photo that might help.
My Sarah found this project on Pinterest. I had previously mentioned this type of project to her a few weeks ago.
It’s been a really good day in happy longarm quilter land. I got my little fix of sewing while I made my tablet beanbag. And I did some household chores. And my Sarah had a little baking session and made a Red Velvet cake. So I get to eat cake this evening. Oooh yum. Tomorrow is the last day of 2013. It’s out with the old and in with the new. We’re not planning on attending any parties. A nice quiet evening in will do for us. I’ve found it quite difficult to work out what day it was this morning. With having so many holidays over the past week it’s hard to keep track of what day it is. So between my laptop and the family calendar I worked out that it’s Monday.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some applique border work. I hope you have a splendidly festive evening. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
