It’s been another busy day. There wasn’t much sewing going on here in my little corner of the northeast of England. I attended an event which of course involved this tower of quilts …..
Before heading off, I loaded a quilt into my longarm quilting system to start quilting tomorrow. I’m interrupting my summer break to get this one job done. University students need quilts and as they start their studies again in a few weeks’ time it is important that this quilt gets longarm quilted now. I hope to bring you a progress report tomorrow.
I did a wee bit of stitching this morning before I kicked off. Do you remember this doodle from yesterday?
Well I gave it a go. At the time when I was doodling I had no intention of replicating it by stitching it out …..
And although it’s not perfectly identical to my doodle it is a pretty good representation of what I penned wouldn’t you say.
This little piece of stitching is only 8 inches square. And I used up scraps of backing and wadding leftover from another project. I even used the thread that was already running thru my sewing machine. I had a spare hour before I had to leave for my outing. And while I was adding a few things to today’s To-Do List I spotted yesterday’s doodles and decided to give a go at Freemotion Quilting it. I think I shall do a little more doodling that will stretch me. I realise that sometimes things don’t always work out as we would like but today’s effort is pretty good. So I encourage everyone to have a go. Doodle something and try to stitch it out. Go on, you know you want to!
Once again I will say it’s been another brilliant day in happy longarm quilter land. Over the last few weeks I have been more relaxed about day-to-day living but today I went back to making lists of what I need to get done. I think I’m going to find it hard to get back into the groove but I have to do it. I have another week or so before things go back to normal in my sewing room. I’ll tell you a secret ….. the Christmas longarm quilting bookings are coming in steady. The slots are booking up quicker than I thought they would!
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter is going to be doing some planning in order to be able to fit everything in. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you really enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
