It’s been very autumnal in my little world today. I woke to drizzling rain which turned to pea soup fog. It’s been the kind of day when you wear your pyjamas all day, drink hot chocolate and catch up on some recorded TV programmes.
My plan for this week totally changed when my friend Sandra reminded me that we had an appointment on Wednesday instead of Tuesday. The weather wasn’t brilliant but my Sarah and I stepped out to run some errands. Sarah has made goals for which she needed a few supplies which we purchased this morning. It’s quite fun getting her sorted. I didn’t expect it but it seems Sarah is following me into the world of textiles. She’s going into a different branch of textiles than I’m in but there is still plenty she can learn from my experience. It’s really fantastic.
After running errands I did get the chance to do a little sewing …..
I can’t tell you what this piece of work is all about just yet but let it be known now that all the borders have been added I have to longarm quilt it. That won’t be until next week at the earliest. We’re very near completion now Carolyn!
For those of you who enjoy watching Downton Abbey you’ll be glad to know that Series 5 starts on Sunday September 21st. Sunday evening is the perfect time to air Downton. I spend most of Sunday getting ready for the week ahead so I can’t think of anything better to settle down to watch in the evening. I think of all the period costume dramas I have watched over the years Downton is the best. I promise not to spoil it for those who won’t be viewing it for a while yet.
I pieced a few more quilt as you go log cabin blocks. I’m up to 18 blocks now. I’m going to make as many as my Jelly Roll will allow. And then I will join them. I know exactly what I’m going to use them for as well. I’m quite excited about this project. It gives me a chance to do some more designing. I love planning and making a project come to life. So watch this space.
Well it’s been a great day in my world. I managed to help my Sarah with her future plans. And I did some sewing. I even made some great progress on one particular project. What more can a girl ask for?
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some fine hand appliqué work. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something that makes you happy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
