It’s Monday again. I think every Monday should be do what you love the most Monday. What do you think? Does anyone agree? Today would have been a good day for drawing new designs and catching up on rubbish TV.
It’s been a pretty busy day in my little world. I spent the morning running errands with my family. And I spent the afternoon in my sewing room doing things. The first thing I worked on was turning one large quilt top, which originally came from my friend Anne, into two smaller ones. Between us, my Sarah and I unpicked the quilt top and made a plan of action last evening. Today I pieced it back together in a different order by adding strips and borders to the two different units. Until I can get these quilts loaded into my longarm quilting system this is what we’ve got …..
I went on to do more work in my sewing room by loading Joyce’s quilt top into my longarm quilting system. This is a lovely sampler in one of my favourite colours. Joyce selected Rose Garden by Apricot Moon as a quilting design and a lovely fine beige thread. I’m looking forward to getting started in the morning.
I have been working on something simple in the evening. It’s a simple Nine Patch which I will add half a frame to eventually. The blocks will be rotated hence only needing half a frame. It’s a simple block that looks really good when it’s pieced. And it’s a great way of using up scraps. I had plenty of fat quarters that need using up.
Well it’s been a pretty good start to another week. I didn’t want to get up this morning. Monday’s seem to be getting more difficult to face. I wish I could have that Friday feeling on Monday. I don’t have trouble getting up in the summer when the sun rises early.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be hand piecing some more Nine Patch blocks. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you really enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
