Woohoo! What a great day. It’s been lovely and quiet. Apart from taking stuff to the wheelie bin I never stepped over the threshold. I’ve spent most of the day getting ready for the week ahead. My Sarah was busy sorting thru stuff in here room and hubby stepped out for a few hours while we were quietly busy behind the scenes at happy longarm quilter manor.
Once the chores were done I disappeared into my sewing room to get a few bits done. I did a wee bit of Freemotion Quilting. This practice was done on some of the fabric that my Sarah recently hand dyed …..
I really enjoyed working on Sarah’s fabric. I have loads of this hand dyed fabric in different colours and shades and once I join them together I think it will make an interesting piece. Once I finished my Freemotion session I machined the binding to yesterday’s longarm quilting effort. And then I moved onto loading another quilt into my longarm system in readiness for tomorrow. Look how pretty this quilt is and imagine how lovely it will be once it is quilted …..
Do you have a hard time getting the centre creases out of fabric? Well I do. I recently started using starch but I find that all too often I end up with white flakes of dried starch on my fabric. I heard about a product called Best Pressed by Mary Ellen Products. I read really good reviews but didn’t know where to get it locally. Well I found some at the quilt show on Friday …..
I haven’t tried it yet but I think it may do the trick to solve the crease problem. Along with the Best Pressed and at the same stand I found a Moda Jelly Roll suitable for a male quilt. It’s called Indigo. There aren’t any flowers or pinks in any of the strips. I love working with Jelly Rolls because a lot of the cutting is already done making the job easier.
Well it’s been another superb Sunday in happy longarm quilter land. I got a lot of little chores done in my own quiet manner. Looking at my To-Do List for the coming week I think it’s going to be another busy one. I have a few quilts to be longarm quilted. So it looks like I will be spending quite a lot of time in my sewing room.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be hand piecing some more Nine Patch blocks. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something that makes you happy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
