Hello again my lovely readers. I hope you’ve all had a super weekend. Happy longarm quilter manor has been a busy hive of accomplishments. A few minutes ago I compared my To-Do List to my list of accomplishments. Wow! It’s pretty amazing what can be done when you’re determined. I can’t figure out how I managed to get so much done. If you want something done, ask a busy person to do it. The more things you do, the more you can do. ~ Lucille Ball
So let’s go back to Friday …..
We had a lovely day at Stitchin’ Heaven doing some Freemotion Quilting. My seven lovely ladies worked and worked all day. Each sewing machine was purring away and producing lovely stitches. One thing that always amazes me when I teach a class that involves sewing machines is watching the busy hands.
These hands belong to wives and mothers, daughters and sisters. These hands belong to nurses and teachers, homemakers and carers. These hands nurture and knit, sew and cook. And all too often these hands don’t get any credit for what they do. Somehow that seems a great shame. I’m glad these hands are getting the chance to be creative. Friday was a great day for me. Thank you ladies for keeping me company.
It feels like I spent most of the weekend finishing things off. I hand finished the binding on a quilt …..
And I made and machined another lot of binding on for my Sarah to hand finish …..
I played with beads again …..
And I planned some more Christmas stuff …..
And I went on to load a quilt into my longarm quilting system to hopefully start stitching tomorrow …..
I hope to bring you a progress report about Anne’s quilt tomorrow. It’s a lovely sampler pieced using fabrics designed by Judy Rothermel. Anne has chosen an all over quilting design and a neutral thread.
My Maisie had a haircut last week. She has been feeling the cold on her morning walks. Here she is cuddled up to my Sarah enjoying the morning sun after her run on the beach. Can you tell that Maisie loves her creature comforts?
Well it’s been another busy weekend for this old timer. I got so much more done than I thought I would. I seem to be planning my meals well ahead and the washing is fitting in between everything else but still getting done in good time. It’s going to be a very busy week for me. I have something planned for everyday!
Just on the off chance that anyone who lives in my area is looking to upgrade their sewing machine I’ve got a Bernina 750qe for sale. I bought it new so it’s only had one careful owner. It’s been serviced and has the latest firmware. If you’re interested please contact me.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter making lists and perhaps hand piecing some blocks. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something relaxing in readiness for the week ahead. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
