Hello my lovelies. What’s going on in the quilting today? Have you done any stitching today? Well I kept myself busy all day in my sewing room. First I longarm quilted Ann’s second quilt …..
Yes it does look like yesterday’s quilt but it isn’t. Ann used up some of her stash by making two simple Irish Chain quilts. And they both look fab. I reckon she will be very happy with her newly longarm quilted quilts.
Once I finished Ann’s quilt I went back to my Christmas stockings. I machine quilted the second stocking and then layered up both stockings and added the binding. I will hand finish the binding this evening. All that’s left to add is a hanging loop on each stocking. I can’t wait to hang my stockings to see how they look. It was a fun simple festive project to work on.
While I worked in my sewing room today I had great company. My little Maisie joined me. Maisie sits in the chair that normally sits in the bay window in my sewing room. It’s only a director’s chair which has a quilt and a cushion on it which Maisie is quite partial to. She settles in and has a good sleep while I potter around the sewing room.
I received a lovely gift from my friend Carolyn E. last week. Carolyn loves messing around with her sewing machines. She has more patience than anyone I know. She spends hours doing machine embroidery. I wish I had more patience to play with all the features on my different sewing machines. Someday I when I retire I will play with all my fab toys and produce some fab stuff too. Thank you Carolyn for the lovely pincushion.
It’s been a lovely day in my little world. Once again I only stepped over the threshold to walk the dog. It’s been a cold and very breezy day. In fact when I put my Maisie out at lunchtime it felt like it was going to snow! I wouldn’t mind a bit of snow but not until Christmas Eve when everyone slows down for a few days.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be hand finishing the binding on two Christmas stockings and then perhaps do a little work on a hexie project. I hope you have a super cosy evening working on something festive. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
