So my lovelies, what’s been happening in your world today? Have you been doing a spot of shopping? Have you been wrapping gifts? Or perhaps you’ve been putting the finishing touches on a Christmas project. Well I’ve done two of those three today. I’ve kept myself busy at a slow measured pace pretty much all day.
Has anyone been struggling with keeping warm today? It’s very cold in my little corner of the northeast of England. The wind is blowing a hooley which is pegging the temperature way down. Although it’s been quite wintry outside happy longarm quilter manor has been pretty comfortable. My Sarah and I kept ourselves busy with various crafty bits. Sarah worked with ice resin while I put the finishing touches to my Christmas stockings …..
Ta-dah! I’m ready for Christmas now that I have added hanging loops and bells on my stockings.
I felt like playing with my sewing machine this afternoon but I didn’t want to work on a project. A little messing around with a few fancy built-in stitches was just the ticket to satisfy my need to play. So I dragged a scrap out of my scrap bin, pressed it and produced this little sample.
Doing that little bit of stitching has inspired me to devise a project using the built-in embroidery stitches in our sewing machines. I truly believe that everything we do, including playtime, has some value. Sometimes it’s simply helps us to build our confidence and sometimes it fills us with inspiration. So give yourself permission to play as often as you can.
You would have to be living in a cave for the last few months if you didn’t know that there are only a few short weeks left of 2014. I can’t remember if I have started making a list of things I want to do this coming year. In fact I don’t even know if I have done the things that were on this year’s list! So perhaps I shouldn’t make a list at all. Perhaps I should just live each day to the fullest and do as many interesting things as I can as often as I can. What about you, have you got a list of things you would like to do in the New Year? Or perhaps you have a list of things you have decided NOT to do. One way or another I think 2015 is going to be jam packed full of great things for this very happy longarm quilter. So I had better make the most of it while I can.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be working on hexies. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you really enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy festive stitching. ♥ ♥
