Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all enjoyed a super weekend. I’m sure quite a lot of you have suffered power failures and various other things due to the weather. The wind has taken hold here in the UK and caused a whole load of problems. You can rest assured that this very happy longarm quilter has had no power failures so far. However I have felt the effects of the very blustery wind. I think gale force wind at night is very scary so sleeping doesn’t come easy. Let’s hope we get better weather this week.
I was really hoping for a quiet weekend. I wanted to stay home and mess around. And that’s exactly what I did. Yesterday I did a few chores but for the most part I spent time in my sewing room working on this …..
Somehow I managed to finish the last blocks this morning. I spent most of today joining the blocks together and adding a small border. I loaded the Chisel Star quilt into my longarm quilting system ready for machine quilting. This quilt is destined for my favourite charity which is Quilts for Comfort. I’m hoping to get the quilting started and perhaps even finished tomorrow. Fingers crossed. I look forward to adding this one to my Finish it Up 2015 list.
This evening I want to show you something my friend Susan in Australia is working on. This is something Susan unearthed from storage which, in the spirit of Let’s Finish it Up 2015, she plans on progressing with. This project is foundation pieced which by all accounts will make this project very square and accurate giving it a fantastic finish. I look forward to seeing more progress on this project. Thank you for sharing Susan.
After spending most of the day working on that Chisel Star quilt I still had a little time left over before having to make supper. So I went on to do a little more work on some pineapple log cabin blocks. I have a total of 21 blocks to make for this project and so far I have made 10. Little by little I’m getting there. This is a kit and when it’s finished it will be a satchel bag. I hope to bring you more progress soon.
So that was my weekend. After hanging around the house all weekend I think I’m quite looking forward to stepping out to have my hair cut in the morning. I should come out of the hair salon a new woman. And hopefully then the fun will start with my longarm quilting system. I don’t really want to but I guess it’s time to start hanging out in my sewing room longarm quilting a few days a week.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be hand piecing some nine patch blocks. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something relaxing in readiness for a busy week ahead. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
