Hello my lovelies. Have you had a good day? I don’t know what kind of weather you’ve all had today but it’s been cold here, bright but cold. I drove hubby to the car rental place first thing this morning. Hubby needed a car to take him way up to the north of Scotland on business. I found it quite hard to drive because the sun was blinding. This time of year the sun is never very high in the sky and quite often it’s blinding.
On my return home I disappeared into my sewing room. Bliss. I worked on a few pineapple log cabin blocks. My goal was to finish 17 of a total of 21 blocks. And then I went on to select a few fabric prints to make some spacer blocks. Choosing fabrics is very difficult for me but once I had done that I went on to piecing 8 simple 6” blocks.
These little blocks were so much fun to make. I don’t often make little blocks but just lately I have been working on plenty of little ones for different projects.
During my lunch break I decided that I my little shelf of Willow pattern bits needed cleaning. So that’s what I did. As much as I love to be surrounded with my favourite things I don’t enjoy the dusting them. So that’s one more job done that really needed to be done.
In the spirit of Let’s Finish it Up 2015 I have a couple of photos of some projects. Both these pieces were pieced by Karen of Friday’s Child is blog. Karen considers herself to be a beginner but this is definite evidence that she is more advanced than a beginner. Do visit Karen’s blog to read about her journey into piecing her sampler quilt. Don’t forget if anyone else has any progress photos of UFOs they are working on and would like to share with us please attach them to an email. I think all the UFOs we attempt to finish is an inspiration to someone out there. Thank you to Karen for sharing her finish with us.
My mother sent me a link for a very funny video. If you’ve had a hard day and you need a little cheering you will love this. When I saw it I was howling with laughter. So have a little look and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Well it’s been a pretty good day in my little world. I met my self-imposed challenge of making 17 pineapples and went on to make a few more spacer blocks for the current Whimsy. I did a chore or two that really needed doing. What more can a girl wish for? Some warmth would be nice. It’s absolutely brrrrrr here at the moment.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be hand piecing a few nine patch blocks. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something that makes you happy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
