Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a super Friday. I love Fridays. I don’t know why because every day is the same for me. I pretty much do the same thing from day to day. The only difference between the weekend and weekdays is that I don’t have to rely on my alarm to get up in the morning. It’s much more relaxed.
It’s been an interesting day for me. I stepped out this morning as I belong to a small choice group of ladies who do coffee now and again. So we met up around 10 this morning and proceeded to drink coffee while discussing our dreams and schemes for 2015. It’s quite interesting how so many of us are the same but come from very different backgrounds not to mention different parts of the world. We ladies who do coffee work together in bringing comfort to young people who need it. By the end of our meeting we had decided on a plan of action for the coming year.
On the way home I made a couple of stops. The first was Ikea as I needed some trouser hangers to hold my current projects. Miss Daisy was my transport today. And I made sure I parked really far from the entrance to the store so I could get a little extra exercise. Well I certainly got some exercise walking thru the whole Ikea store to get to the department I wanted! Doesn’t my Miss Daisy look lonely in that big car park?
I got home after 2pm so there wasn’t much time left to get stuck into one of my ongoing projects. I was really determined to get my sewing fix in no matter what. So I got a little pile of fat quarters out …..
And chose two …..
I pressed the two fat quarters and added some fusible wadding to the corner of the light one. Then using a dinner plate I traced the shape onto the wadding and trimmed away some of the excess fabric.
I put loads of pins around the outer edge to keep everything lined up.
Then I sewed on the line. It was easier to sew in a circle than I thought it would be and I think that’s because it was a large circle.
Then I pulled the sewn circle right side out thru the opening I left.
And I used this tool to push the seam out as far as it would go giving me quite a good circular shape.
And that’s where I end my report for today. You will have to wait until next time to see what I made with my circle. Suffice to say that I really enjoyed my quick fix of sewing and I made something useful. Using a clean sewing machine is so nice.
So it’s been a pretty busy week for this very happy longarm quilter. The year ahead holds lots of fun and interesting things for me. And I look forward to everything that comes my way, even the challenges. So far I have no plans for this weekend. I’m hoping to be able to spend a bit of time in my sewing room to get on with a few projects. Hopefully we’ll all get a chance to be crafty. 😉
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some stitchery work. I can’t wait to show you this current project. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you really love. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
