Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a super weekend. It’s been lovely for me. My feet did not cross the threshold. And I’m not going stir crazy …… yet. I must admit that I am looking forward to stepping out in the morning. Don’t get too excited, I’m only going to the supermarket.
So let’s see, what have I been up to these last two days? Let’s start with what I was working on Friday afternoon shall we …. Do you remember this circle I made?
Well I turned the circle into this …..
I plan on using this little receptacle as a thread catcher. Yes yes, I can hear you shouting you already have a variety of thread catchers! Well a girl can never have too many thread catchers. And besides I needed a quick sewing fix on Friday afternoon!
I have been asked what the name of this tool is …..
Well it’s made by Clover and it’s called a Hera Marker. It worked really well for pushing the seams out as far as they can go on this circular project.
So what else did I do? Well apart from mundane chores I spent lots of time in my sewing room. I made a few more foundation paper pieced hearts …..
I went on to finish my Japanese Meshwork project. That’s one to add to my Let’s Finish it Up club progress report. The meshwork has been finished for a while but I needed to turn it into something. So I made some flowers last week and spent some time layering up, laying out, tacking and securing said flowers in place yesterday…..
And I also added some hand quilting on the borders …..
And then I added and envelope style back which brings me to the finished article. This Japanese Meshwork project is a class I will be teaching at the beginning of March.
I then went on to taking photos of other class project samples. There’s the Semi-Circle Bag which I will be teaching in February …..
And the Connect the Dots Freemotion Quilting project which is in February as well …..
I know I’ve told you before but for those who don’t know, if you live in my corner of the world, which is the northeast of England, and would like to attend any of my classes you will need to contact the lovely folks at Stitchin’ Heaven at 01665 570 833.
I’ve had a brilliant weekend. I sit here this evening composing my post feeling pretty tired and wondering why. I suppose it could be because I have been really concentrating on getting on with things. I feel like my To-Do List is getting shorter every day. It’s a great sense of accomplishment when you see the list reducing. I may even be able to treat myself to a day off soon!
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some stitchery work. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something relaxing in readiness for the busy week ahead. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
