Hello my lovelies. What’s been going on in your little world? It’s been a rather productive day in happy longarm quilter land. I spent the day working on Angie’s Pontiac Star quilt.
My day started pretty early. I set off for the supermarket at 8:30. Yesterday I was looking forward to stepping out this morning but when this morning came and it was so cold I didn’t want to go out! Because I headed out early my cupboards and fridge are full of healthy options. I have lots of lovely fresh produce to cook up.
Once my longarm quilting system is clean I’m ready to start the stitching. My longarm sewing head gets cleaned with every quilt I quilt. The bobbin area gets a good sweep removing all the lint and then I add a drop of oil every time I insert a new bobbin. And I use a fresh needle with every quilt I do as well. Which reminds that I need to order some needles this week. Something else I do every time I switch my system on is wipe the tracks of the frame. After doing everything on my check list, in other words being kind to my longarm quilting system, I started the actual quilting. Angie chose a design called Starlets by Lisa Calle and I stitched it out with a soft beige thread which blends beautifully with her fabrics. Angie pieced the whole quilt including the borders by hand. And she did a beautiful job. I’m sure the recipient of this quilt will cherish it for many years to come.
It’s been a lovely day in my little world. I enjoyed my longarm quilting session. I have planned my next session. I will be quilting this lovely festive quilt next …..
This quilt was appliquéd and piece by Karen. And Karen has chosen a simple custom quilting job. So tomorrow I will be loading and making a plan of action for Karen’s quilt.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing a wee bit of design drawing and perhaps some hexie work. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
