Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all been having a good productive day. I’m afraid I didn’t get as much done as I would have hoped. Well I guess tomorrow is another day.
After taking inventory of longarm supplies I realised that it was time to order needles. I go thru hundreds of needles every year. That’s not surprising as I do change the needle in my longarm sewing head with every quilt that I work on. So I made my list and made a phone call. To my surprise the manufacturers no longer make the needles I use for my longarm. It’s not the end of the world but it means doing things a little differently. For the time being I just need to find a company that still has stock on the shelf. I must admit that I panicked when I was told the news but then I put things into perspective. There’s always a way to get things sorted.
My Maisie had an appointment for her six month vet check up this morning. The vet told us today that our Maisie has developed a heart murmur. We recently lost our Tippy to the same type of heart condition last summer. So I‘m pretty sad about this latest news. Those of you who don’t have pets will think me silly for being upset over such a thing. My Maisie has been part of our family for almost nine years. And she’s been a wonderful companion to me throughout those nine years. She’s only a small dog but she’s a larger than life character in our house.
Well I must say that I found it quite difficult to concentrate on things today. I answered what seems like hundreds of inquiries regarding longarm quilting. I also loaded Karen’s lovely festive quilt …..
I started planning the quilting on Karen’s quilt. I think my plan of action has been sorted and I’m ready to get started.
I did little bits of sewing related things today but nothing of any great consequence. I played with these …..
And this …..
These blocks belong to my Four Season Whimsical Appliqué & Stitchery project for this year. I will start teaching this project at Stitchin’ Heaven in May. I started joining all the components of this quilt today. How excited am I to see the whole project come together. It’s even better than I thought it would be. I can’t wait to reveal it.
So it’s been a different kind of day in my little world. Don’t get me wrong I’m still the happy longarm quilter only today life’s rich tapestry has been marred by a little sad news. I’m sure tomorrow will be a better day. And speaking of tomorrow I’m not sure that it will be a better day as the weatherman has been threatening to send bad weather our way again. I didn’t watch the lunchtime news today so I have no idea if the blizzard conditions hit the northeast of America and Canada as forecasted over the last couple of days. I’m ready and waiting for the weather to arrive now.
Before I go this little birdie reminded me that the Stitchin’ Heaven’s winter sale started today.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some stitchery work and some hand appliqué work. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something that makes you happy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
