Hello my lovelies and happy February the first. Eeeeeee we’re already in the second month of 2015. Goodness me time flies!
So what have you been doing this weekend? Did you dedicate a little bit of time to do some sewing? Well I’m very pleased to say that I got to spend lots of time in my sewing room creating and making progress one particular project. My Whimsical Appliqué & Stitchery project is progressing at great speed. It’s lovely to see it growing into something I can be proud of. All the centre blocks are complete and joined together and the border components are almost complete. I can’t wait to show you what I designed and made for this years’ Whimsy class. This years’ project is a little different because I joined forces with my creative friend Sandra to create something beautiful to add to the mix. There’s more to tell you about this project but I’ll save it for another day. So here’s a little peek at what I have been doing this weekend. I rotary cut loads of squares …..
to be turned into loads half square triangles …..
I rotary cut lots of strips which I cut into 6-1/2” sections ……
And then the cherry and icing on the cake, was prepping some shapes in readiness for appliqué work …..
I thoroughly enjoyed my session in the sewing room. Once again I got so much more done than I thought I would. The ideas just seemed to flow. And things just seemed to fall into place. Not every day works out like today. So I’m grateful to have had a good day today. I spent my time in the sewing room in the company of my little Maisie. She’s excellent company.
So it’s been a super weekend for me. I feel good about my accomplishments. And the progress I made cheers me up no end. It pushes me to crack on even more. After checking my diary for the week ahead it looks like a promising week. I have a little longarm quilting planned, some paperwork and a little more time in my sewing room to make more progress. And of course there are loads of little jobs I can do from my armchair in the evening. Like most of you I can’t sit in front of the TV doing nothing with my hands. So I make progress in the evening as well.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some hand appliqué work for the borders of my current Whimsy. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something that really makes you happy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
