Hello my lovelies. I hope it’s been a good productive day for you all. I spent most of the day in my sewing room longarm quilting. And while I worked I enjoyed these …..
I think with Valentine’s Day just around the corner there will be millions of pounds and dollars spent on flowers all over the world during the next few days. So I thought I would treat myself to some cheerful flowers for the weekend.
I spent many hours in my sewing room longarm quilting Muriel’s quilt today. This is Muriel’s lovely Turning Twenty quilt …..
Muriel left the choice of quilting designs up to me. So I chose Cloud Nine by Patricia Ritter and a lovely fine blue thread that blends in perfectly with all the blue fabrics that Muriel has worked into her quilt top. I think Muriel will be pleasantly surprised when she sees her quilt up close and in person. I have no doubt that this quilt will be cherished for many years to come.
Now in the spirit of Let’s Finish it Up I have a progress report from Fran.
And this is what Fran said about this project: I made these blocks last year and then left them because I needed to trim them to size and I don’t or didn’t have a 12.5″ ruler. I borrowed a ruler from my quilting teacher but ended up asking her for help. Every time I tried to cut I chickened out! Terrified I’d make a mistake. Anyway, she went through them with me (and gave me her old ruler as well, what a love) and I finally got on to the sashing. I’m so pleased with the popping colours. I now need to sew the rows together, put the blue border down the side and then add a border. I’m so glad I swallowed my pride and asked for help as I’m delighted with this. ~ Fran. Your project looks great Fran. Keep up the great work. So my friends, does this make you want to retrieve a UFO from your storage cupboard and Finish it Up? I know it makes me want to finish something but it will have to wait until the weekend. Don’t forget that I’ll be happy to hear from anyone who has some progress to report. We all need inspiration sometimes. So keep those progress photos coming.
I have one more little something to show you today. Do you remember yesterday’s drawing? Well while it was still dark this morning I transferred the drawing to a piece of calico …..
Now I can’t wait to start stitching this one. I’m hoping it will look really good. The hardest job now will be choosing thread colours!
So it’s been a pretty good day in my little world. I’m pleased to have been able to finish longarm quilting Muriel’s quilt. And because I have transferred yesterday’s design to fabric I have a new armchair project to work on while I’m watching Death in Paradise this evening. Tomorrow I will be teaching my Semi-Circle Strippy Bag up at Stitchin’ Heaven. I’m looking forward to catching up with my ladies, some of which I have not seen since last month.
So as you already know what I will be working on this evening I guess all that’s left to say is I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you really enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
