Hello my lovelies. Have you all had a good day? Did you get the chance to do a bit of crafting today? Well apart from my visit to the supermarket first thing this morning I spent all day in my sewing room. What a great session I had!
I started off by tidying up the sewing room a little bit. Well that was a waste of time because I went on to doing a bit of machine sewing. And of course I got carried away and made a mess again! I spent a few hours testing rayon thread and fancy stitches …..
And I was so successful that I managed to finish one of my samples for Let’s Use Our Fancy Stitches class being held in March at Stitchin’ Heaven. After using my sewing machine set on more than a straight stitch for piecing and freemotion quilting I can see the attraction. I have quite a lot of fancy stitches on my machine and using them is like designing my own fabric.
I purchased a small panel of quilt labels a while back …..
And I had an idea which I wanted to try out over the weekend. I turned one panel of quilt labels into this bag …..
I think it looks fab. It’s the perfect size to store a crochet or knitting project. Although this was just a simple project I got quite a buzz from the accomplishment. The whole thing was pieced using my sewing machine. And it took about 30 minutes to make from start to finish including waiting for the iron to warm up.
And now I can show you the One Row at a Time quilt. I convinced my Sarah to join me in the garden to hold up my quilt this morning so you could view the whole quilt in one shot …..
This is also a class which will start in March. It’s suitable for all skill levels. We will be using a variety of techniques to get the end result. Don’t forget you can check my Upcoming Events & Workshop page to see what classes are coming up soon.
So it’s been another pretty busy day in my little world. My Sarah stepped out to meet her fella in the town and I spent the day messing around in my sewing room. I had really great results with the project I was working on today. I will post photos of today’s project soon. Tomorrow I hope to load another quilt into my longarm quilting system and perhaps I’ll spend more time messing around.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be securing a label in place and doing some hexie work. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something interesting. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
