Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a great day. It almost feels like we’ve experienced at least three of the four seasons in one day here in my little corner of the northeast of England. I saw bright sunshine for a while which turned into dark and dreary and just now the wind is blowing and the rain is whipping my windows!
The weather didn’t affect my day very much. I kept busy busy all day. I started my day with a major printing job in readiness for Friday and Saturday’s beginner’s sampler classes. All the different info packs have now been topped up and I’m ready for my ladies. I have a few brand newbies starting this week.
Once all that printing was done I disappeared into my sewing room. I started my session by loading Mrs. Ds quilt into my longarm quilting system …..
And then I spent the rest of the day working with this fabric …..
And this thread …..
The Michael Miller striped fabric reminds me of deck chairs, beach huts and melting ice cream in the heat of the summer. I don’t often work with stripes but I had an idea that I really wanted to try using striped fabric. I can tell you that the idea worked better than I expected it would. I will post photos as soon as I have finished my project.
While sewing today, I learned something about myself. My revelation is that I much prefer using the foot pedal while operating my sewing machine …..
However today my Start/Stop button was really useful …..
Although my foot pedal was disconnected from the sewing machine I was still depressing it with my foot! I certainly am a creature of habit. Do you use your Start/Stop button or are you like me and use your pedal?
It’s been another busy day in my little world. Once again my Sarah stepped out to meet a friend so I got to spend lots of uninterrupted time in my sewing room. In fact I got carried away and suddenly realised just how long I had been working at my sewing machine! I really enjoyed my creative time. It’s lovely when a plan comes together.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be playing with funky colourful buttons and perhaps doing some hexie work. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you really enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
