Hello my lovelies. Happy Friday. I hope you’ve all had a great sunny day. Spring is around the corner and we’ll soon be able to get out and about without wearing so many layers to keep us warm.
I had a really early start. I woke up just before 5am and couldn’t get back to sleep because I was trying to decide what fabric to use on a project I designed last evening. Finally at 5:10am I was heading downstairs to make a cup of tea and to look in my fabric bins to make a real decision about fabric. I must admit that for once it didn’t take long as I chose from a collection of Fat Quarters from Moda called Le Bouquet Français by French General. By 6am most of my patches were cut out and ready to sew together. I made one really good circle/oval …..
If you’re wondering how you can make really good circles and ovals click here or you can access my How-To section at the top of this page.
And the really good oval goes on this …..
And once I finished with the Dresden I moved onto making a couple checkerboard type strips …..
All in all I reckon it was worth getting up early to get a head start on this new project this morning. It’s been a busy day with appointments, a trip to the supermarket and of course there were several loads of washing with my name on them! Tomorrow is the first session of my Connect the Dots class at Stitchin’ Heaven. And I know we’re going to have a great time doing what we do best during my sessions. I hope to be able to take some photos during the day. I printed and bound all the hand-outs and I made sure that I have enough chocolate to go around. I have made a list of everything I need to pack in the morning. I’m as ready as I’ll ever be. It’s been another really good day in my little world. It’s always a really good day when I’m creating.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be working on recording today’s project on my EQ7 patchwork software. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you really enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
You are the most energetic person. I wish I accomplihed what you get done in a day. Well, maybe I wish to get just half what you do in a week but I may be just as content if I could sit in your classes and get more of what I enjoy doing completed. I completed one unfinished project per day last week and felt as if I had worked a miracle. Then, Saturday I gave a cousin a scrap quilt as a surprise birthday gift I was over the moon. Giving is so much fun. I hope you are appreciated wherever you make a statement.
Thank you for your kind words. It sounds like you kept really busy with finishes last week! It’s a great feeling when you can see the UFO pile reducing.
I have no heard of the snowflake dresden. Is it different size templates? I love it and enjoy doing the dresden design and would like the pattren for yet another try. Each time there is a different delight as the different fabrics truely do make them different.
It’s the same template but different lengths. Try it, I know you’ll be impressed with the result. Thanks for popping in.
