Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a super day. I have no doubt that you’ve all kicked off the week doing something useful. As usual I’ve kept busy doing something and nothing. I worked on a few little bits that needed finishing touches and such mundane things.
I started my crafty day by loading Rachel’s lovely Disappearing Nine Patch quilt into my longarm quilting system …..
Rachel has chosen a butterfly quilting design and I found the perfect shade of grey thread to stitch it with. I look forward to getting started in the morning.
I messed around in my sewing room adding handles to a bag …..
This bag still needs embellishing. That’s something that I do from my armchair in the evening. So watch this space for another progress report on this bag.
I moved onto cutting some templates. I needed templates for the letters that spell Welcome. So here they are …..
I will be designing a Welcome Wall Hanging over the next few days. So what better place to start than with the letters.
And the last thing I want to show you today is my finished Oval Dresden Plate Table Runner. I finished the hand quilting and binding last evening and added the label this morning.
I’m really pleased with the way this project turned out. Not only did I get to play with a Dresden Plate, one of my favourite blocks, but I got to do a little bit of simple hand quilting which I don’t get to do often enough. Click on the photo to zoom in for a better view of the quilting.
So it’s been a great day in my little world. I enjoy messing around adding the finishing touch to ongoing projects. And I enjoy designing new projects. I have been recording new thoughts about my Welcome project. I’ve got several chicken scratch drawings waiting to be refined and turned into a proper wall hanging. How much fun can one person possibly be allowed to have!
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter, armed with pencil, ruler, eraser and of course paper will be drawing and redrawing the final Welcome design. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you thoroughly enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
