Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve had as much glorious sunshine as I’ve had today. The sunshine was so welcome. A little more warmth from that sunshine would have been even more welcome. I can’t wait for summer to arrive. I’m looking forward to walking barefoot in the sand and perhaps enjoying an ice cream by the sea while admiring my favourite beach huts.
I spent a good part of my day longarm quilting Moira’s quilt today. Yesterday I had a dilemma regarding this quilt and so I didn’t think I would be working on it today. I misplaced my notes regarding what quilting design and thread colour to use and had to send an email to Moira to which she replied a lot quicker than I anticipated she would.
Moira chose a quilting design called Hall of Mirrors by Apricot Moon and a lovely fine grey thread. We auditioned several shades of blue thread which just didn’t do it for us but when we tried the grey we knew immediately that it was perfect. I’m really pleased with the final result and I’m sure Moira will love it as well.
It’s been a great day in my little world. I stepped out with my Sarah to run an errand firs thing this morning. More than ever I have been feeling Operation Taking Flight taking grip of our lives. We have conversations about going to University every day. I try to put a brave face on thru all the conversations but I must admit that it’s getting more difficult as the taking flight date grows nearer. I know Sarah’s going to make the most of her study adventure. Now if only I could make up my mind what I want to be when I grow up it would make things a lot easier!
I will be spending the next couple of days with my beginner’s sampler quilt ladies at Stitchin’ Heaven. Once again I suspect that I will be well entertained. Show and Tell alone is quite exciting. It’s always lovely to look around the room and see just how far my students have come. I’ve seen some truly lovely quilts come from these sessions. What better way to spend a couple of days!
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some hand quilting. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something that makes you happy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
