Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a great weekend. Mine was pretty busy and an odd thing happened while I tried to sleep last night.
I spent Friday and Saturday with my beginner sampler quilt ladies. They have learned so much over the past year and are making wonderful progress. I’m sure each and every quilt produced has been a labour of love which will be cherished for many years to come. I don’t even remember the first quilt I made which leads me to believe that I don’t even own the quilt anymore.
Last week, my time was full of crafty bits. I did plenty of hand quilting on a project I designed myself and I did oodles of longarm quilting. And this coming week will be full of longarm quilting as well.
I thought I was suffering from writers block a few days ago. There are times when I think all I have to post about is just more of the same. My days can be very repetitive. Well today I have a real life tale about something that happened while I tried to sleep last night. I was pretty tired yesterday so when I climbed the stairs to my bedroom I went straight to sleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. At 12:40am I was rudely awakened by some fella ringing the doorbell and banging on my front door. It was soon obvious that the attack on my front door was booze fuelled. I was far too scared to open the door so I phoned the emergency services. The police arrived 3 minutes after I put the phone down. Two flashing police cars arrived containing three burly policemen. When the perpetrator saw the flashing Blues but no Twos approaching he decided to leave. However after speaking with me, the police went after him to stop him from trying to gain entrance to someone else’s home in the same way he did mine. They did come back a little while later to reassure me that the perp had been caught and would not be bothering us again. I must admit that last night’s event really rocked my world. No one was hurt however something like this leaves you feeling vulnerable and it leaves you thinking about all the what ifs …..
So the weekend is coming to an end now. Today I tried to relax in readiness for the busy week to come. I watched a little TV and I did plenty of hand quilting, added a hanging pocket and machined the binding on my Welcome Wall Hanging. All that’s left to work out is the embellishing touches. Buttons are always good for simple embellishments. I’m looking forward to finishing this project so I can get on with the next one.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be hand finishing the binding on my current project. I hope you have a very safe and cosy evening doing something you really enjoy doing. Until you read me again,
Be sure to lock your doors and windows and keep on stitching. ♥ ♥
