Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had as much super sunshine as I’ve had. I find the sunshine always spurs me on to get things done.
I woke this morning feeling well rested and ready to face the week ahead. I kicked off my day with the normal doggy routine and then moved onto to longarm quilting.
I worked on Janet’s quilt today. This is such a cheerful girly quilt. The quilting design I used today is called Splat by Designs by Vickie and a mauve coloured thread. I auditioned a couple of shades of blue but they just weren’t right. This is what Janet’s quilt look like now …..
I love this quilt. It’s so fresh looking and the Splat quilting design is funky and perfect for a young girl. I’m sure the recipient of this quilt will love it and cherish it for decades to come.
Apart from sewing a couple of buttons on, I did not do any other sewing today. I can now reveal the whole of my Welcome Wall Hanging project …..
I’m very pleased with the final result of this quilt. I will be teaching this project in May. And when the sample comes back I will be using it as a door banner. This is a fun project using fusible web and raw edge machine appliqué and quilting of your choice. Don’t forget you can view my upcoming classes here.
After a rather eventful weekend things have settled down in happy longarm quilter land. And due to my unwelcome and unwanted weekend visitor we are even more diligent about making sure the doors are locked at all times. While I longarm quilted today I pondered what else I could do to ensure that we’re always safe. Staying safe is very high on my list of priorities. You have no idea how quick the time flies by when your mind is occupied. It seems like it took no time at all to quilt Janet’s quilt but in reality I was in my sewing room all day. Tomorrow I have a couple of finished quilts being collected but for the most part I will be working on Josie’s quilt. There are several quilt tops on my To-Do List for this week and next but I’m going to make sure I set some time aside to stop and smell the flowers now and again.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some hexie work. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something that helps you relax. Until you read me again,
Stay safe and happy stitching. ♥ ♥
