Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a good productive day. My day’s been brilliant. I’ve been full of busy all week and today was no different.
I spent all morning in my sewing room longarm quilting Anne’s quilt. This is number 2 of 2. For this quilt I used a quilting design called Easy Street by Lisa Calle and a lovely fine white thread. I happen to really like Easy Street. It’s a simple curvaceous quilting design that softens all the straight boxy lines. I think Anne will be pleasantly surprised when she sees this quilt up close and in person.
Yesterday I showed you a little prep work I was doing.
After I finished working on Anne’s quilt this afternoon I turned my prep work into this …..
This is the beginning of a Medallion Quilt. I’m not planning on turning it into a very big quilt and eventually I will be hand quilting it. I didn’t really need to start a new project but I just felt I needed to do some appliqué work. I love the whole process involved in appliqué work, from choosing a design, selecting fabric, tracing, cutting, tacking and fine hand sewing. Even the quilting and binding is great. Do any of you like hand appliqué? And do you ever start new projects just because you can?
I received this clip from my mother today. I’m sharing it with you because I think it’s quite funny …..
So it’s been a pretty good week for me. It was really productive in that I got quite a lot of quilting done. I didn’t do much socialising, I’ll have to save that for the week after next. I plan on spending the weekend catching up. I have loads of paperwork to do and oodles of little bits of sewing to do. Having said that I plan on taking time to breathe before I turn blue. I’m hoping to do a little baking which I will eat while drinking lots of hot drinks. I need to run two errands but apart from that I’m not planning on going very far.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some fine hand appliqué. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you really enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
