Hello my lovelies from sunny happy longarm quilter land. I hope you have enjoyed the same bright and cheerful weather I have experienced.
I spent most of my day working in my sewing room. I kicked off the day by making some really good circles …..
These circles will be the flower centres on my latest appliqué project …..
I managed to tack all the shapes to the background last evening. So once all the shapes have been secured in place I will add my circle flower centres. I’m really enjoying this project. I must admit I haven’t even given any thought to how I will hand quilt it yet. I’m going to keep it simple even though it will be a teaching sample. You can learn to make really good circles for appliqué by clicking here.
Once I finished making my really good circles I moved onto adding borders to my Jelly Roll quilt …..
I decided to use up as many strips and scraps from my Jelly Roll as I possibly could. So my outer border consists of piano keys. I have very few scraps leftover but what there is has gone into my scrap bin for later.
It’s been a very creative and productive day in my little world. I was supposed to have a visitation from a little workman who was supposed to do a little work in my front garden but for some unknown reason he never showed up. I got everything ready first thing this morning and by midday it was obvious he had a better offer. Never mind I made the most of my day regardless.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some fine hand appliqué work. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you really enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
