Hello my lovelies from a sun drenched northeast of England. The sun just keeps on shining and slowly but surely I’m peeling off the winter outerwear. What a treat!
Although I did hang out in my sewing room today I did not do any longarm quilting. However I did get a quilt loaded for the next session. I checked my To-Do List and worked thru almost every task at a slowed measured pace. I spent ages searching for something that I have yet to find. My main goal was to tidy up the sewing room. Well that backfired on me because after tidying I started searching for the illusive item I was trying to locate and in my quest to find said item I made more mess. Not only that but I found things that I forgot I had and got involved in planning how to use forgotten things in a near future project! Somehow I get very distracted when it’s tidy up time.
Along with tidying and messing up again I did get a few bits done. I made a quilt label for my latest Jelly Roll quilt …..
I’m not a great fan of my own writing so as you can see I compose the words and phrases I want to include in my quilt label, print it out and using the light box I trace the words onto the label fabric or pre-printed quilt label. That’s a really easy way of making a label. It doesn’t matter how you make your label as long as you secure one to the back of your quilt.
And I did a big printing job in readiness for Saturdays’ class …..
I’m meant to be teaching my Oval Dresden Plate Table Runner …..
However I have a couple of ladies joining me to do Let’s Use Our Fancy Stitches …..
And the Elongated Hexagon Bag …..
So it’s going to be a busy day at Stitchin’ Heaven on Saturday but as usual we’re going to have fun because that’s what it’s all about. The ladies that join me book classes to get away from the daily routine to learn something new. And I do my best to make the classes as interesting as possible which in turn can help reduce the stresses of daily life.
During my search today I found a couple of chopsticks. I’m not sure if I mentioned this before so I apologise if I have. Did you know if you take an ordinary pencil sharpener you can sharpen the end of a chopstick and turn it into a really useful corner poker outer? The beauty of it is that you can sharpen it and trim the point a little so that it’s not so sharp it will poke right thru the fabric leaving you with an ugly hole. I quite like having unusual tools.
It’s been a good day in happy longarm quilter land today. I didn’t get very much done but I’m still pleased with what I did managed to accomplish. I hope to do even better tomorrow. I may even be able to tidy my sewing room to my satisfaction tomorrow! Who knows ….
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be hand sew a label to the back of a Jelly Roll quilt and then perhaps do some fine hand appliqué work. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something that you really enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
