Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a good productive day. Although it’s been quite bright in my little world the wind has been making it feel quite wintery. Brrrrr I would have been quite happy to stay indoors but I needed to do some banking in person. After the lovely warm temperatures we got last week it’s been quite a shock wearing woollies again!
Apart from my lunch break, which was spent going to the bank, I spent all day in my sewing room. I worked on Liz’s sampler quilt …..
Liz chose a quilting design called Pollyanna by Anne Bright and a neutral cream colour thread. Both choices are perfect for this quilt. I think Liz will be pleasantly surprised when she sees her quilt up close and in person. This is Liz’s very first quilt and she has taken to quilt making like a duck to water.
After finishing Liz’s quilt I still had some time left before I needed to make our evening meal so I went on to another task. Rosemary asked me if I would layer her quilt in readiness for hand quilting. I don’t know anyone who enjoys layering quilts. It’s the most boring job in the world. And sometimes it’s frustrating because getting everything smooth can be difficult. So I loaded all the components into my longarm quilting system with the goal of doing the pinning tomorrow morning. Well once I got everything loaded I decided to get the pinning started and finishing tomorrow morning. I surprised myself by finishing the job in one session. And now Rosemary’s quilt is ready for her to start hand quilting.
I don’t often get to layer up quilts; not double bed size ones at least. I layer up loads of little projects which are no bother at all. Today while I was pinning I used a very good tool which helped me close the pins without hurting my fingers.
I have one of these tools and it’s still in the original packaging. The one in this photo was supplied along with the pins by Rosemary. I will be sure to remove the packaging from mine and store it with my pins for future use.
It’s been a really good day in happy longarm quilter land. Tomorrow I plan to load another quilt in my longarm quilting system. And I have one or two important errands that I need to run. I’m hoping I can squeeze in a few quilt related tasks as well.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some find hand appliqué work. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you really enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
