Hello my lovelies on this sunny bank holiday Monday. What a difference a day makes. It’s been another quiet day in my little world. When I got up this morning I was ready to go but because I promised myself a quiet time I settled down to finishing some little jobs. Well at least I thought they were little jobs but nothing ever just takes five minutes to sort out.
Apart from pushing the vacuum cleaner around and tidying up a little I did a little bit of sewing …..
I finished securing the pale flower centre circles on the outer border this morning. This quilt top is now ready for hand quilting. And I can’t tell you how happy I am with the results of this quilt top. When I started I wasn’t sure if it was going to be nice but I see now that I had nothing to worry about. I built this one step by step and as you can see I kept it very simple. Simple is good. With the addition of some nice hand quilting this quilt will be lush.
Once I finished the appliqué work on my little quilt top I shifted over to Sarah’s quilt. I pressed the binding and machined it and the label on. While Sarah was out for her driving lesson I start hand finishing the binding. Now the quilt is ready to be handed over. Sarah is already planning her next endeavour by dying some fabrics to mix in with some store-bought prints.
So it’s been a pretty quiet day in happy longarm quilter land. Even though tomorrow is Tuesday, it’s the official start of my week. So I will be loading a ginormous quilt into my longarm quilting system. If I’m lucky I won’t get too many interruptions while I’m working on this next one. It has taken all my willpower not to start a new project today. I’m desperate to do a scrappy armchair project; one that I can work on in the evening quietly. I need to get a few more hexies done first.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some hexie work. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you thoroughly enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
