Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a super fine day. It’s been a busy ole day in my little world. I had lots of errands to run this morning. It was wet and windy in my little corner of the northeast of England. So when I arrived home at lunch time my little house felt warm and cosy. After recovering from my outing I stepped into my sewing room to load Bronia’s ginormous quilt. This is 100”+ quilt. And Bronia has left the choice of quilting designs and thread colour up to me. So I auditioned a couple of thread colours but I chose the same bright green as the squares. As for the quilting design, well I think I might go quilting design shopping this evening. It’s a long time since I last purchased new designs. Now is as good time as any.
After loading Bronia’s quilt I moved onto another project that I was hoping to finish this afternoon. I started by working on this strip which I was aiming to turn into a ruffle.
After pulling, pinning, sewing and pulling some more this is what I ended up with …..
There’s another step to this project but because I lost one of the key components I couldn’t finish what I started today. I pulled cupboards apart, emptied drawers and generally made a super mess looking for the key component needed to add the finishing touch to my project! And just when I had given up and it was time to exit the room for the day ….there it was hanging on the back of the door! So you will have to come back and see what it was I wanted to add to this project.
While I was searching this afternoon I found so many things I had forgotten I had. So I have vowed to spend a couple of mornings doing more tidying so that I can organise things better because its absolute chaos in my sewing room at the moment. I think a lot of things will have to go. There comes a time when we have to let go of things we know we will never finish or use. You’ll never be able to accuse me of being a minimalist!
So it’s been a pretty good day in my little world. I was disappointed that I spent so much time searching rather than making progress. I could be finished my project now if I hadn’t spent so much time searching! Oh well tomorrow is another day, however I will be spending most of the day longarm quilting.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be shopping for quilting designs and composing instructions. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something productive. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
