Hello my lovelies. Have you are had a good productive day. We’re almost halfway thru the month of May! I can’t wait for summer to arrive. I’m looking forward to my little break in August.
I spent quite a lot of time in my sewing room again today. I worked on my Penny project. All that’s left is to do the quilting. Here’s what it looks like now …..
If you would like to join me in making this project please contact Stitchin’ Heaven to register for the class on Friday June 12th. I really enjoyed working on this vintage project with a modern twist. I didn’t know what it would be like to work with wool but everything worked really well. I have worked out a way of making these pennies using regular patchwork cotton for those who do not want to use wool.
After bringing my Penny project to the hand quilting stage I went on to layer another little quilt which I will be using as a sample for my hand quilting class in July. I layered said quilt using my longarm quilting frame. So this quilt ….
Has been turned into this …..
And to end the day I loaded Sandra’s second quilt into my longarm quilting system in readiness to start quilting it tomorrow. I think this one deserves a custom quilting job. I haven’t decided how to approach the quilting yet. That’s a decision I will ponder this evening. I love this quilt but especially I love the scrappy look. Someday soon I will be dragging my scraps out in order to prep an armchair project for the summer. This is what Sandra’s quilt looks like at the moment …..
I can’t wait to transform this quilt top into a proper quilt. It’s quite a large quilt so I think it will take two or three sessions to complete.
So it’s been a very productive in happy longarm quilter land. I played and played in my sewing room until it was time to start preparing our evening meal. For some unknown reason I concentrated so hard on what I was doing that I was not planning new projects in my head. It’s quite refreshing for me to have my head in the here and now. I’m looking forward to doing it all over again tomorrow.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some hand quilting on my Penny project. I can’t wait to see what it will look like when it’s finished. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something relaxing. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
