Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a super day. It’s been a pretty busy one for me. I spent all day in my sewing room working on a charity quilt. I was given 12 blocks pieced by the Pincushion Craft Club which I promised to turn into a quilt top and then quilt. So I finished adding the sashing and then moved onto the borders. And because the job progressed really well I loaded it into my longarm quilting system and went on to quilt it. This is what the quilting looks like …..
This quilt was so much fun to work on. Every bit of scrap fabric I added was recently used in other projects so I didn’t have to search very far to finish piecing the top. And the quilting design is called Bird on the Wind by Apricot Moon and a cream colour thread. I was pleasantly surprised how nice this quilt looks now that it’s finished. I plan on hand finishing the binding sometime over the next couple of days.
I found a wee bit of inspiration in a magazine recently. I decided to resize and tweak a block from a project a wee bit. Here are some of the components from the said block. I can’t wait to see if I can get my tweaks to work. And if it does work I will be able to use up some of my stash. This will be my evening armchair project over the summer. There’s no rush but truth be known I can’t wait to see how this quilt will look when it’s finished.
So it’s been a pretty good day in my little bubble. My appointment with Susan who was dropping a quilt top off broke up the monotony. Susan always brings me really interesting quilts to quilt for her. And this latest quilt is no exception. In fact the fabric is so lovely that I’m going to search it out. So I’m sending out an S.O.S. message today; if any quilt shop here in the UK carries a fabric collection called Vintage by Makower please contact me. In the meantime my search engine will be working overtime while I try to find it myself.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be working at hand finishing the binding on todays’ longarm quilting effort and watching George Gently. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you really enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
