Hello my lovelies. What kind of a day have you had? Whether it’s springtime like or autumn like, I hope you’ve all have a very enjoyable day. I’ve had a pretty busy time of it myself. I spent one hour running errands and the rest of the day in my sewing room playing.
I kicked off the day by loading Susan’s quilt. Step 1; load the backing fabric in my longarm quilting system …..
Step 2; load the wadding …..
Step 3; float the quilt top …..
You may have noticed that I haven’t shown you the right side of the quilt top today. That’s because I’m saving the beautiful fabric for the big reveal once I have quilted it. Susan has predominantly used a fabric collection called Vintage by Makower to piece this quilt top. And I love the fabric so much that I have ordered some for myself. Susan has chosen a quilting design called Pollyanna by Ann Bright and lovely pale grey thread. My intention is to get the stitching started tomorrow morning but for now I have tucked the quilt in for today.
What’s on your design wall at the moment? After loading Susan’s quilt in my longarm system I went on to adding some borders to three of my four current Whimsy blocks. The next step is to layer them all up and add some machine quilting. I’m looking forward to have a little Freemotion quilting session soon. So have a look at what’s on my design wall today …..
I have tested a new block and determined that it will work for what I have in mind. So I decided to start doing some prep work to getting this project started in earnest. This will be my evening armchair project for the warm months. It’s an appliqué project and you know how much I enjoy fine hand appliqué. And the fact that I can use up some of my existing stash is great.
Over the last few days I have been doing stuff willy nilly without a plan. Well it seems that I have definitely proven to myself that I do much better when I compose a To-Do List. My list consists of the goals/challenges I hope to achieve during a certain period of time. I have also come to the conclusion that the little unimportant boring things that need doing but can be easily forgotten don’t get missed out if they appear on my list. So this morning I made my To-Do List and I’m very happy to report that I was able to cross everything off the list and in fact I got a few extra things done as well. So for me the To-Do List is a must.
So it’s been a brilliant day in my little world. I worked at a slow and measured pace and enjoyed every minute. I wish all my days were as enjoyable as today. I wonder what tomorrow will bring.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some appliqué prep work. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you truly enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
