Hello my lovelies. I hope you have enjoyed the same lovely sunshine I have. I stepped out into the garden to fill the birdbaths and decided to prune a penstomen shrub. During the pruning session I was attacked by a vicious club rose. As much as I like roses I do not enjoy the vicious thorns! I don’t do a lot of gardening, I generally leave that to my hubby. The garden is looking pretty good at the moment. So I guess we should enjoy it while we’re experiencing our 6 days of summer weather.
As per usual today worked out very differently than I had planned. I did get quite a lot of tasks listed on my To-Do List, all except one thing. And that one task was replaced by composing instructions for a hand quilting class which I will be teaching in July. I sat down in front of my laptop with the intention of writing for 30 minutes after which I would have lunch and then disappear into my sewing room. Well the words were flowing really well and the plan of action went flying out the window. So the long and short of it is that I finished writing the instructions as well as a requirements list in full. There are days when the words don’t come but today was a good day for writing. No writer’s block today!
In order to keep me on track I had collected a few of the tools I use when I prep and when I stitch a hand quilting project …..
And after writing the instructions all I want to do at the moment is sit down quietly and hand quilt. I’ve already got a little project marked and hooped ready to go. I find hand quilting a very relaxing occupation. Don’t forget to check my Upcoming Events & Workshop pages to see what I’ll be teaching over the next few weeks.
Once again I need your help. I have been approached by a group of my beginner students who would like to go to The Festival of Quilts in August. So if anyone know of a coach that will be departing from Longframlington or a little further north would you please let me know so I can pass on the info? I believe at the moment there are three ladies interested in traveling to Birmingham for the quilt festival. So if you have a coach with a few spare seats this is your opportunity to fill them.
Speaking of The Festival of Quilts … I have on this very sunny day ordered my tickets and books a hotel room so I can attend. It’s so good to have something to look forward to. Eeeeeee I feel like doing cartwheels in the garden but I guess I should make a start on cooking our evening meal instead. Don’t forget I will be launching a giveaway for tickets to The Festival of Quilts next week. So come back and visit soon.
It’s been a pretty good day in my little world. I did some of this and some of that. And later I might even do some hand quilting. What more can a girl ask for?????
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing a bit of appliqué prep work and possibly a little hand quilting. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you truly love. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
