Hello from a soggy happy longarm quilter land. I’m looking forward to a little sunshine.
I hope you’ve all had a good productive weekend. I spent sometime in the company of like-minded ladies at Stitchin’ Heaven. It’s always a good day when my beginners bring in projects they have gone on to make after finishing their beginner’s sampler quilt. Marion chose the Vintage Spool block from her beginner’s sampler quilt to make another. She used up quite a bit of her stash to make this lovely quilt …..
I love the Vintage Spools block. It’s a great way to use up your scraps and perhaps someday when I’m ready to start another armchair project this will be the block I choose. Goodness knows I have plenty of scraps! Well done Marion and thanks for sharing your finished project with us.
As well as being a soggy day it’s been a mooching around day. I started the day with printing info packs for tomorrow’s class. And then it was off to the hairdresser to have my hair lopped off. Then it was a quick stop at the framing shop and the bank. I designed some posters for a couple of new sewing groups. While I pecked at my laptop I could hear the two men working in my bathroom. Who knew having a new bathtub fitted would be so disruptive. There is a fine layer of grit everywhere in my house at the moment. That’s what happens when some of the tiles and bricks have to be removed. My bathroom is a mess. Oh well I guess sometimes you have to make a mess before you can make things better. I hope this bathroom work doesn’t take too long to complete. I don’t think I’ll be able to do much longarm quilting this week.
I received a new book today. This is a good one for anyone who likes dense Freemotion Quilting. Karlee Porter recently visited the UK. I wish I could have attended one of her workshops. I’m hoping to have a little Freemotion Quilting session using one of my domestic machines soon. In fact perhaps I could do that while the bathroom work is going on this week. Here’s the book …..
I’m feeling a bit useless right now as I can’t get on with much of anything while my house has been taken over by a couple of workmen. I suppose I should use the time as a creative break. I sketched four stitchery designs recently that I could embroider and of course I could do some Freemotion Quilting work. It would be a great time to do paperwork as well. In any case I’ll try to make the most of my week. I do feel a bit lost at the moment.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some fine hand appliqué. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you really enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
