Hello my lovelies. I hope you’re all having a great week. My week’s been full of workmen and a few errands.
Most of you will know that my house has been invaded by workmen working in my bathroom. And as we only have one bathroom it has been quite inconvenient at times. Along with having work done in the house comes all the things that you have to replace such as the flooring. So my Sarah and I headed out yesterday morning to choose and arrange for new flooring to be fitted. I’m not having anything fancy fitted, it’s just simple lino but it will be clean and tidy and hopefully see us thru for a good few years. Now the next thing I need to replace is curtains. I know what I want but unfortunately I couldn’t find anything similar to what I have my heart set on. So I will try to be patient until such time as I find what my heart desires.
I normally hang out in my sewing room quite a lot during the course of the week but this week my sewing room has a few extra things stored in it while the work is being done. And the power and the water has been turned off and on a few times. So I can’t really get on with what I usually do. So I have tried to get on with other things with some degree of success. I did quite a lot of paperwork done using my laptop. Well that was quite a chore this morning. Getting my laptop to do what I wanted it to do was very trying at times. I’m not technically minded but I don’t want to be defeated by a computer. So I keep trying until get it right. In the end I managed to succeed in doing what I set out to do.
I’ll take this opportunity to remind you that I’m running a giveaway for tickets to The Festival of Quilts. So if you would like to be in for a chance to win a pair of tickets please click here or on the photo above to see the details of how to enter the draw. The winners will be announced Wednesday July 1. Thank you to everyone who has entered the draw. I purchased my own tickets a couple of weeks ago and they arrived this morning.
A few weeks ago I consulted all my readers regarding what they have in their basic sewing kit when they go to a class. It was quite an interesting consultation as there were suggestions that I never thought about. So I am in the process of putting a list together which I will publish so you can see what other ladies include in their basic sewing kit. I just wanted to let you know that I hadn’t forgotten.
Are you interested in all things woolly? Well if you are, you might be interested in knowing that it’s time for Woolfest again. I have never been to Woolfest but I’m going to fix that this year. I plan on going with my happy longarm quilter clan. So we’re going on a one day road trip! Cockermouth will never be the same again once we have arrived!!!! I’m really looking forward to it. I have checked the list of vendors and there are a few that I already know and love. I’m quite excited to get out and about in a different kind of crafty environment.
So far this week I don’t have a great deal of evidence of any productiveness. And it does feel rather strange having nothing to show for the first four days out of my week. I have been doing some fine hand appliqué work in the evening. I have designed some stitchery blocks. And I have planned new projects but I cannot execute anything while the house is upside down. I think I will spend lots of time wiping all the fine gritty dust off every surface in the house for a few days until the dust is gone. Next week I hope to get back to normal. I need to get back into creative mode!
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some fine hand appliqué work. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you truly enjoy. Until you ready me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
