Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all a good and productive day. This is day 5 of our adventures in making our bathroom better. The plumbing side of things is finished now but the new flooring still needs to be fitted. I can’t wait for everything to be finished.
During one of our many chats this week, my Sarah mentioned something she read about making a quilt in a day. I have come to the conclusion that unless the quilt is miniscule you will NOT finish it in one day. You can however piece one simple quilt top in a day. Something we forget about quilts is that they are not quilts until we quilt them! In my experience I know that I can’t piece and quilt an average size quilt in one day. And why should I have to rush thru the process. As I get older there are certain things that I have no patience for but when it comes to quilt making I like to enjoy the journey. I love the planning as much as I love the piecing and the quilting. So remember ladies and gents take time to smell the flowers. Enjoy the journey.
Just about every day I find new inspiration. My notebook is full of notes and rough sketches. I wish there were enough hours in each day to make my rough sketches come to life. Well I drew some stitchery designs recently which I started testing today. It’s quite exciting turning rough sketches into the real thing. I transferred the first design onto a piece of calico and gathered up some embroidery thread. I retrieved my favourite stitchery work needle and scissors and started stitching. I stitched while in the background I could hear power tools running and at one point the electricity and water was turned off. It was the best way of keeping calm during the last flurry of effort was going on. I stitched furiously and almost finished stitching the first design.
So it’s been a pretty busy day in happy longarm quilter land this week. I didn’t get any longarm quilting done but I did use my time wisely. I must admit that today has been my favourite day of the week because I did get some sewing done. Next week things will get back to normal. I have oodles of longarm quilting to catch up on. Life happens …..
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will finish stitching number 1 stitchery design. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you truly enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
