Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a grand day. I stepped out this morning with my Sarah for a sewing session. The goal of our sewing session is to finish up some of the ongoing projects for Quilts for Comfort although anyone is welcome to join especially if they want to learn how to make a quilt.
On the way home from our sewing session we stopped to get some food for the next couple of days. After putting all the food away my Sarah discovered a puddle of water on the floor in our bathroom. Well this upset me to no end. After Friday’s experience with a leak which needed a plumber, I did not want a repeat. We’re not sure what caused the puddle but it has dried out now.
The puddle put a damper on this morning’s good feeling. So in order to calm myself down I decided to work on the appliqué I drew and started the prep work on last evening. This is as far I got last evening …..
I have since chosen and cut my background fabric. I’m going to lay it out on the background and tack it down in readiness for the fine hand stitching which will secure the patches in place. This is the stage I like the most. The boring bit is done and the block is starting to take shape. Yes I did draw the block but drawing is black and white and there’s no texture until the fabric comes into play. This is the best therapy there is. The fabric collection I have chosen is Faded Splendor by Robyn Pandolph for RJR. It’s girly and I think I’m going to enjoy working with it.
So it’s been a good day and it’s been a worrying day. I got to meet some new ladies at our sewing session which is always a good thing. Discovering a leak was a downer. I will sit quietly working on my appliqué block over the next few hours which I know will relax me. And tomorrow I will start all over again in my sewing room. I plan on longarm quilting Josie’s quilt tomorrow. Let’s hope we don’t find any other water related problems. I don’t swim very well.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some appliqué work. I hope you have a super cosy and dry evening doing something you really enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
