Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a fab day. I don’t have anything sewing related to report on this evening but I do have some terrific news.
First of all Sarah and I stepped out this morning for a little sewing session. It was nice getting together with both seasoned and beginner quilt makers. Our main goal is to make quilts for our charity while teaching the world to make quilts and having a good time along the way.
For the last few weeks Sarah and I have been waiting for her college results to see where she will end up going to University. Well I’m so pleased and every so proud to tell you that my Sarah has received an unconditional offer from her first choice of Universities today. My baby will be moving to another county for the next three years to study Textiles and Surface Design. Since she started studying art my Sarah has changed paths. Originally Sarah wanted to study Illustration but because the art course covers so many different techniques she found something that she liked even better. Here’s a little peek at Sarah’s end of year show at Newcastle College …..
This is great news because Sarah’s going to be doing exactly what she wanted to do. And she’ll be doing not all that far from home but still living away during her study time. So the countdown has begun. We have lots to do in the next six weeks. I have much more positive outlook on Operation Taking Flight now. While Sarah is away learning I’m going to try to learn as much as I can too. So watch this space my friends.
We had a very welcome visitor this afternoon. A couple of lovely men popped over to fit the new flooring in my bathroom. Finally all the new components of my bathroom have been fitted. Well except for new curtains and accents. The curtains will be made by me because they are just simple ones. I’m letting the flooring settle and the sealant dry overnight and tomorrow I’m going to start putting things back where they belong. I’m so relieved that my chosen flooring went down without needing a plumber to fix any leaks.
It’s been a really good day today; all positive which I wish everyday was like. Tomorrow we’re going to step out to celebrate by purchasing a few more things from Sarah’s shopping list. Somehow we will be ready in good time for her big move.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some fine hand appliqué work. I may even treat myself to a little Bombay Sapphire Gin to celebrate the good news. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you really enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
