Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a great day. It’s been a pretty good one in happy longarm quilter land.
I kept myself busy all day. For some unknown reason there wasn’t anything on my To-Do List for today. The rest of the week is full of tasks including longarm quilting and meetings. And my Sarah and I will be heading down to her University to see what there is in and around the town. We’ll be looking for all our favourites.
I kicked of the day by working on this …..
Once again I got the Bondaweb out and traced all the components of this frog. Chose the fabrics from my scrap bin and got on with the task. I’m quite pleased with this. And I’m thrilled to have used a few scraps. I would like to find a fun project that would make a dent in my scraps!
I went on to load a quilt into my longarm quilting system. By the time I got around to it, it was really warm around the back where my sewing room is but I carried on until the job was done. This is a lovely quilt which was pieced by Sandra …..
I love the colour palette of this quilt. Green and Purple and green and pink are my favourite. So I decided to pull out my colour wheel to see where purple and green sit on the colour wheel …..
The last thing I did in my sewing room today was make this fabric circle …..
Which goes on yesterday’s Dresden Plate effort …..
Once the circle is sewn on my sample will be complete. The templates have been traced and cut out and so I’m ready for the Dresden challenge.
Yesterday I was moaning about how I struggle to get a clean duvet cover on my duvet. Well I did have one or two suggestions and the one I will be trying next was sent in by the lovely Anita. If you would like to see a different way on putting a duvet cover on your duvet click here.
My friend Fran has been rather busy of late working on UFOs. I certainly admire Fran for keeping her eye on the ball and finishing what she set out to do. Here are a few projects Fran finished a few days ago …..
I can reveal this evening the leaf project I was working on last week. This is my Leaf Table Runner quilt …..
I had a great time designing and making this little quilt. This project involves rotary cutting, machine piecing, raw edge machine appliqué just to mention a few of the techniques used to make this little quilt. So if you would like to join in making this project you can contact Stitchin’ Heaven at 01665 570 833. The first class will take place on Thursday September 3rd. And as usual we’re going to have fun. We always have fun at my classes. I’m sorry for the poor quality of the photo. The light wasn’t great when I took it.
Well it’s been a really day in my little world. I spent quite a lot of time in my sewing room working at my favourite slow and measured pace. I seem to get more done when I’m not rushing. I’ll take this opportunity to let you know that I will be taking a few days off from blogging. I’ll be back soon though.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some fine hand appliqué and perhaps some hand quilting. I look forward to sitting quietly doing my hand sewing this evening. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you thoroughly enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
