Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a fab day. It’s been a pretty busy one in happy longarm quilter land.
I spent most of the day in my sewing room longarm quilting Ruth’s quilt. Ruth chose a quilting design called Love Doodle by Patricia Ritter and a lovely fine white thread. I happen to know that this quilt is a wedding gift. And I’m sure the happy couple will love this quilt for many years to come.
It’s taking every ounce of my strength not to start a new project. I have plenty of UFOs to work on but my head is full of new ideas and oodles of traditional of techniques with a twist that I want to try out. So the last couple of weeks I have been working on my wholecloth hand quilting project. I will soon be finished this long term project. It’s been on the go for at least two years. It’s not even as if it’s a difficult project but I just keep jumping from one thing to another. I’ve made tremendous progress on it over the last few weeks. I had better start thinking about what fabric to use for the binding.
Not only is today a bank holiday but it’s also the last day of August. I suppose it’s the end of the summer as well. Tomorrow and thru the rest of the week ahead, thousands of younger children will be going back to school in droves. There will be tearful mummies sending their little ones to school for the first time and there will be mummies that will be sighing with relief. My turn will come in a couple of weeks.
The weather’s been a bit yuck today. It started to rain mid-morning and we’ve had showers on and off all day. It’s not been very warm so I decided a little comfort food would be great for our evening meal. So after coming out of my sewing room late afternoon I disappeared into the kitchen and made a cottage pie. That should warm us up and make us feel better.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some hand quilting. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you really enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
