Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a grand day. It’s been a dreary day in my little corner of the northeast of England but I didn’t let that keep me from doing stuff.
I woke up much later than usual this morning. I spent so many years getting up with my Sarah and making sure she was ready for school in good time. Nowadays I don’t have to do that but it’s taken quite a while for my body clock to adjust. The first thing I did, even before walking the dog, is trim my wholecloth hand quilted UFO project. I put the last hand stitch in it last evening just in time to go to bed. I really wanted to trim it down last evening but I was a bit tired and decided that I would probably do a better job after a good night’s sleep. Once it was trimmed I cut some strips for the binding and joined them together. Now the binding has been machined and I plan on hand finishing the binding this evening. Hand finishing the binding is the perfect evening armchair work. It will keep me warm while I work on it.
Do you remember the fat quarters that I purchased yesterday? Well I cut them all up today and started sewing them together in a different order. I pieced eight blocks in a random fashion and thoroughly enjoyed myself. My Sarah was out taking a driving lesson which I pieced blocks at my slow and measured pace. I find that I enjoy working in my sewing room much more if I can take my time about it. Here’s a little sneak peek at what I’ve been playing with.
This evening I will do some hunting and gathering for a quilting design suitable for this special project.
It’s been a lovely day in happy longarm quilter land. I’ve had plenty to keep me busy. Even my Sarah has been busy decorating her bedroom today. It’s so nice that she’s tidying her room before she heads off to university next week. The next few days are going to be busy ones. I will be teaching a mixed class on Saturday and tomorrow, if all goes well, I plan on travelling south to attend the Great Northern Quilt Show in Harrogate. It will be a pleasure to go to quilt making related event.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be hand finishing the binding on my hand quilted wholecloth project. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you really enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
