Hello my lovelies and happy October 1st. It’s been a splendid day in happy longarm quilter land. Today I got plenty of loose ends tied up plus I spent a few hours in my sewing room longarm quilting Veronica’s Four Season Whimsy quilt …..
Just as I was about to start stitching the electricity went off. Awwwww. We’ve had a long standing date with an electrician who is coming tomorrow to put right what’s wrong. And about time too! I got the stitching started but worried about the power cutting out during the whole time I was stitching. So I got about halfway done today. I will be tied up with teaching and such things over the next few days so it will be a few days before you get to see the finished quilt.
I have oodles of favourite useful tools that make my quilt making easier. They range from the simple wooden cocktail stick right thru to the best sewing machine I can afford. The most useful and very important tools are my ears. I find that listening to what is being said during a class/workshop will put you on the road to success. And I would say your eyes are possibly the next most useful tool as without them you couldn’t read the instructions to any chosen project. I find that when I haven’t listened or haven’t bothered to read instructions properly I’m less likely to succeed which leads to disappointment. So my advice to anyone and everyone is stop and listen and read your instructions properly.
Tomorrow is going to be a busy day for this very happy longarm quilter. I have a few ladies joining me at Stitchin’ Heaven and we’re going to make Christmas Stockings. I’m quite excited about this class because I’m sure all my ladies are going to inspire me with their ideas on how to stamp their own personality to this project.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some fine hand appliqué. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you really enjoy doing. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
