Hello my lovelies. I hope you’ve all had a fabulous day. My day was spent doing this and that. The first thing I did was finish Karen’s gorgeous quilt. Here’s the last little bunny I quilted …..
This quilt is so cheerful and kept me well entertained every time I stood back to look at it.
After running an errand at lunchtime I disappeared into my sewing room once again and spent the afternoon adding some borders to a simple quilt I have been working on. I received the backing fabric yesterday which means I can now load the quilt into my longarm quilting system in order to quilt it. I plan on shopping for a new quilting design this evening. I feel this project deserves a new-to-me quilting design. The next step is to audition thread colours in order to make yet another decision. I’ll keep you posted on the progress of this quilt.
While I work in my sewing room I have plenty of thinking time. I quite often make lists and jot down ideas on scraps of paper. While I’m using my sewing machine, iron board and other tools, I think about how much appreciate good useful tools. I’m very lucky to have a sewing room where everything is set up and ready to go at short notice. I love my sewing machine and I absolutely think my pull-out-of-a-drawer ironing board which is situated right beside my sewing machine is just the bee’s knees. It’s so nice to have the tools I need at my fingertips. It makes piecing quilts and all my sewing projects so much more interesting. And using my gadgets is fun too. Just in case you didn’t know, I love gadgets that work! And I’ll shout from the rooftops when I find one that works. Have you recently discovered a gadget that you think works really well? If so, please comment and let me know what you’ve discovered.
Now, I think you all deserve a little progress report on Operation Taking Flight. Well by now, 4 weeks since Sarah moved to her university accommodation, I thought I would inconsolable with loveliness for her. Well I’m not! It’s not because I’m heartless. It’s because I have discovered Skype. I can chat with my Sarah anytime I wish. I can see here every single day. Skype is a lifesaver.
So it’s been a great day in my little world. I got a good taste of spending time in my sewing room and moving forward with a few of the tasks on my To-Do List.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some fine hand appliqué work. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you truly like to do. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
