Hellooooo my lovelies. I hope you all had a fabulous day. My day was spent doing this and that and catching up with my expectations. My To-Do List for today was a relatively short one so I was able to tick off every task. Tomorrow I hope to surpass today’s accomplishments.
So what have I been doing over the last couple of days I hear you ask???? Yesterday I loaded another of Claudia’s English Paper Pieced quilts. This one is a diamond shapes which form stars. And I’m giving it a custom treatment. Here’s the quilt before the work started …..
Claudia chose a lovely lemon yellow colour thread and I proposed a curvy contour echo inside all the stars and a swag type quilting design in the borders. This afternoon was spent establishing the stitching designs. So far this is how Claudia’s quilt looks …..
In between loading Claudia’s quilt and waiting for a delivery yesterday I played in my sewing room finishing up some stuff. I framed a Twinchie …..
And I played with some Dresden Plate blocks. I finished hand appliqueing the Dresdens to the backgrounds and cut away the back. Some of you are probably taking in a short sharp breath and wondering why I did that. Well I find that the Dresden Plate sits better when you cut the back away. And also when it comes to hand quilting this block I will have one less layer to stitch thru. Do you cut away the background that sits behind your Dresden Plate?
While I was messing around in my sewing room this afternoon a little scrap of paper came flying out of a pile of stuff …..
I can’t remember when and why I might have written the three words of this scrap of paper but I’m going to consider them very carefully. In fact, I’m going to paste the list into my latest notebook and ponder what they mean to me. I would like to think that I Inspire others when I Create which in turn helps me Believe in myself.
So I really enjoyed my day. I delivered a couple of finished quilts to a farm nearby this morning and while I was there I met three beautiful little pigs. All baby animals are so sweet. I spent the afternoon in my sewing working on Claudia EPP quilt and I’m really pleased with the result. If I keep the distractions to a minimum I may even be able to finish the quilting tomorrow. I have two more diamond star quilts to do for Claudia.
So for this evening, this very happy longarm quilter will be doing some hand quilting. I hope you have a super cosy evening doing something you really enjoy. Until you read me again,
Happy stitching. ♥ ♥
